the home with a story

This home is unique in that it was designed to tell the story of the Central Otago Region. It was constructed as a new residence with the fictional story of family home evolving as it passed from generation to generation.

The lounge is the start of the story in the form of a timber cottage with the outdoor living space framed by the ruin of the original cottage.

As times passed the two storey stone structure was built to accommodate the growing family. This structure houses the Kitchen and Dining areas with an office space over.

As the family prospered, later generations added the plastered bedroom wing that’s links to the remainder of the house via the Family Room link.

While fictional, the house reflects the pioneering nature of the region that defines Central Otago.
